EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a specialized type of therapy that accesses the same brain activity that occurs during REM (rapid eye movement) deep sleep. It is a clinically proven method to help reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression significantly and often times quickly. Outside of the typical 'talk therapy' model one pictures with counseling, EMDR utilizes eye movements and limited conversation to allow the brain to do what it does best.
