About Phil

Phil Erichsen received a Master’s degree in Counseling from Grace College and Theological Seminary. He has worked extensively in community mental health with adolescents, adults, and families covering a wide variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, marital issues, family conflict, addictions, and anger management. He has experience in leading groups focused on substance abuse education and helping both the offenders and victims of domestic violence. Phil’s preferred method of therapy is Adlerian, which focuses on rapport, encouragement, building perspective and insight, discovering meaning and purpose, and eventually reorientation. Phil also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Metaphor Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Reality Therapy. When working with clients dealing with domestic violence, Phil utilizes the Duluth Model. Phil places an importance on building a strong therapeutic relationship with clients and hopes to help each individual find their true meaning and purpose in life.
