Helping Children Thrive

We want the best for our children, and sometimes we just need another caring adult in our child’s life to be an extra limb of support. Many kids just need a safe place where they can work through their fears and how to face their fears. As a counselor who specializes in working with children in kindergarten through grade 5, I can reassure them they are not alone in their struggles. I understand life is hard, and my counseling sessions are a safe, judgment-free space for children to express themselves.

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy in my sessions to create a warm environment where children want to share what’s on their minds and hearts. I work with children dealing with depression, anxiety, negative thinking, divorced parents, and trauma. I enjoy listening and sharing life with people. I am loving and caring, and I want all my clients to know they’re valued, and that there is always hope.

I keep things simple with kids. We have fun together, and I give them an applicable takeaway project to work on after each session. I counsel in a way that doesn’t make a child feel pressured or judged, but instead, they know they have value and hope. My goals are for them to leave my office feeling it was a valuable use of their time, they would know they are not alone, and there is a way through any problem. If you feel your child would benefit from counseling, contact Crosswinds Counseling today to schedule an appointment.
